Buy books about the China Ethnic Groups

As most of the books published about the China Ethnic Groups are published in China, to some readers, after knowing the existence of a book, is an authentic headache to get a copy to read it.

Mandarin Books: with shops in Kunming and Dali, and an excellent international service, can be of help to find Chinese books, in English and Chinese.

Other interesting bookstores in China are:

Minzu Books. Daguan lu. Kunming.

Yangcheng Bookstore. Lijiang.

Sanlian Bookstore. Beijing.

Big online retailers as Amazon, Abebooks, Alibris, etc, are sometimes very useful. I would recommend checking also Lulu, as more and more authors are self-publishing their books.

BEWARE¡¡: SOME RETAILERS ARE SELLING BOOKS WITH ENGLISH TITLES BUT WITH CHINESE CONTENT INSIDE. TO THE BUYER IT IS IMPOSSIBLE TO KNOW THAT THE BOOK IS IN CHINESE. I HAVE WRITTEN TO ABEBOOKS, BOOKFINDER AND OTHER BOOKSTORES, BUT THEY ARE NOT WILLING TO FIX THIS PROBLEM. ONE ONLINE BOOKSHOP FROM SUZHOU (CHINA) IS ENGAGED IN THESE PRACTICES.

OTHER BOOKS ARE THE RESULT OF COMPILING FREE CONTENTS AVAILABLE IN THE WEB; USUALLY THEY EVEN DON'T INVOLVE A SERIOUS RESEACH IN THE WEB BUT A COPY-AND-PASTE OF SOME WIKIPEDIA ARTICLES. BEFORE BUY A BOOK, BE SURE ITS CONTENT IS WHAT YOU ARE LOOKING FOR.
