Hard Working Women of the Aini/Akha

Inside China, the Aini or Akha live in the mountains of the tropical region of Xishuangbanna. As in many agricultural societies the women perform most of the works. In market days they go down to the Dai Le villages to sell their products and buy new things. Loaded with big baskets, they use a kind of wood to distribute better the weight. Some of them don't lost the chance to show their splendid headdress. negotiating the price of rice, looking for the products they will need for the next days, and, if there is a chance, selling handicrafts to the occasional visitor.
