He Xingmin.- Comprehensive Introduction to Tourism and Famous Products of Lijiang.

This is a simple book written in Chinese by He Xinmin and translated to English by He Hongyao, both Naxi writers. Written in the first years of the opening to the tourism of Lijiang, even before the earthquake that devastated the old city in 1996. Is a good guide to the main interesting places around Lijiang. Most of these places have experimented great transformations after the massive arrival of Chinese and foreign tourists.

In the natural environment of Lijiang is stressed Yulong Mountain, Tiger Leaping Gorge and the First Bend of the Yangtze River in Shigu. The Old City of Dayan (proper Lijiang) and The Stone city of Baoshan are the only two cities described.

The frescoes of Baisha and Shu He, the Mu family palaces in Lijiang and Wande are also described in this book, as more than ten Lamaists and Buddhist temples situated near Lijiang, that complete the overview of the old buildings of Lijiang region.

In the second chapter "Social Customs" it introduces the main festivals of the Naxi people, their marriage and funeral customs, their women' dresses and their houses.

The third part, with the practical information is now history. And the fourth, with the famous products of Lijiang, can be read only as a curiosity.
