The Nu peoples

Name: Nu, Nuzu.Nusu

Population: 21,000

Location: Yunnan Province, Nujiang Lisu and Nu Autonomous Prefecture.

"Nu ethnic group consists of 4 branches. The branch living in Gongshan calls themselves A-long, the branch living in Fugong call themselves A-nu, the branch living in Bijiang call themselves Nusu, the branch living in Lanping call themselves Ruoruo. Some branches are natives, such as Nu in Gongshan and Fugong, the others are immigrations, such as Nu in Bijian. - The Anong, inhabitants of Fugong County, have a population of 8.000 people.

- The Along, about 8.000 people, live in Gongshan County.

- The Ruorou are some 2.000 people. They live in Lanping County.

- The Nusus, about 11.000, live in Bijiang County.
