Pedro Ceinos Arcones, 2005

The development of the travel industry in indigenous lands has been acompanied by a commodification of the most interesting indigenous cultural markers, that in order to atract tourist to the indigonous lands, are performed in theaters and festivals. Are they losing in the way the sacred meaning they have in the past?

In this set of pictures we see a Wa Dance Troupe performing the Dance of the Wooden Drum, maybe the most sacred of their ancient traditiones in a tourism festival in Southwest China
